In the world of dive watches, function often dominates form, but every now and then, a piece comes along that challenges that hierarchy. The new Submariner Persimmon by Designa Individual Watches, is one such timepiece. More than just a tool watch, it’s a limited-edition designed not just to endure the pressures of the deep, but to ignite curiosity and turn heads.

At first glance, the watch strikes with its bright orange dial, aptly named “Persimmon” (orange type of fruit). This tradition dates back to iconic models like the DOXA Sub 750T, which famously introduced the orange dial as a practical solution for improved visibility at depth, a legacy the Persimmon proudly continues with its own bold twist. Yet in the case of the Submariner Persimmon, it takes on a second life: a visual centerpiece that contrasts beautifully with the muted, sandblasted stainless steel case.

The case itself is crafted from high-grade stainless steel, chosen for its durability, corrosion resistance, and appeal. Unlike polished finishes that can be flashy or fingerprint-prone, the sandblasted matte surface gives the watch a rugged, tool-like character.

In a world of over-designed and over-complicated watches, the Persimmon stands out by doing the opposite: stripping away the unnecessary and letting the materials, construction, and color do the talking.
Perhaps most notably, the Submariner Persimmon is limited to just 15 pieces worldwide. This level of exclusivity places it squarely in the realm of independent collector’s items, not mass-produced luxury.
