Ljubljana has long been flirting with the idea of becoming an urban European metropolis with an exceptional offer, and bars like the newly opened SILK and FIZZ are accelerating that process. For Zagreb residents eager for a change, all they need to do is jump in the car and within an hour's drive you'll be at the door of a bar that could easily be in Berlin, Amsterdam or Copenhagen.

Only a few steps from Prešeren Square, in one of the quiet, elegant streets of old Ljubljana, at the address Krojaška 3, lies the new gem of the Slovenian bar scene, SILK and FIZZ.
If you've ever wanted to step into a bar that doesn't reveal everything at first glance, into a space where every cocktail has its place, and the atmosphere is reminiscent of movie scenes from the golden age of jazz with modern decor, then this is the bar you must visit.

Inspired by the legendary speakeasy bars of the American Prohibition era, the concept brings a design and secrecy that are not so common in the region. Although today there are no secret passwords or prohibitions on serving alcohol, the desire for intimate, exclusive spaces is stronger than ever.
Cocktails and concept
Both are the work of Gal Pilko and Jan Križaj, a duo well-known in Slovenian mixology. Their approach is innovative, and in their words, you can expect “pretentious cocktails and bad jokes.”
The drinks menu changes seasonally, and the offer also includes expertly crafted non-alcoholic cocktails, so that no one is left out. The cocktails rely on homemade essences, fermented bases, spices and carefully selected ingredients, as well as the unconventional flavors of the “PB & BANANA” cocktail, which contains, among other things, banana, peanuts and sherry. In addition to top-notch cocktails, you can also expect a selection of selected wines and quality beers.
