The French brand Serica has become one of the most interesting names in the independent watch scene in recent years thanks to a very specific approach to watch design. Instead of relying on nostalgia as a mere marketing tool, Serica builds its models around the idea of modern tool watches inspired by military, research and diving instruments of the middle of the last century. Their watches are visually reminiscent of the golden age of functional watchmaking, but at the same time they avoid the classic homage formulas that dominate the market. That's exactly why Serica has quickly gained a reputation among collectors as a brand that successfully combines vintage proportions, minimalist aesthetics and modern technical standards.
Special emphasis is always placed on wearability and ergonomics, which is why their models often appear more elegant and refined than most modern tool watches.

I first heard about this brand through Matthew Hranek and his WM Brown magazine, which is actually not a coincidence. Hranek is the author of the book A Man & His Watch and the founder of WM Brown magazine, of which we are the exclusive distributor for Croatia. He was one of the people involved in the very beginnings of the brand, and Serica from the very beginning shared the same aesthetic style that WM Brown has been promoting for years. A combination of vintage watches, classic men's style, cars, cigars, travel and everything that we now call a modern gentleman lifestyle approach.
The connection between Serica and the WM Brown world is confirmed by the special collaboration SERICA WWW William Brown Edition, created through the partnership of Matthew Hranek and Jérôme Burgert , co-founder of Serica . The model was inspired by the legendary British military WWW watches from 1945 (Wrist. Watch. Waterproof.), and came in a 37.7 mm steel case with a hand-wound ETA or Sellita movement and a very clean military design.
New model Field Chronometer Ref. 7505 is conceived as a smaller interpretation of the existing Ref. 6190, but without compromising on specifications or finish. The stainless steel case measures 35 mm in diameter, 9.6 mm thick, and measures 41.5 mm lug-to-lug. The watch retains its rugged character thanks to a water resistance of 200 meters, a screw-down crown, and a double-domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating.
The design remains true to the brand's aesthetic, inspired by mid-century military and research watches. The fixed bezel is now slightly more pronounced, with distinctive markings at 3, 6, 9 and 12 o'clock that further enhance the model's utilitarian look.

Serica has prepared three versions of the dial. Two versions come with a “Minute Critical” layout in black and olive green, while the third uses a two-tone “Tuxedo ” design with applied indices. The dials are made of polished enamel, and all luminescent details use Super-LumiNova C3 coating. The wide hands remain one of the most visually recognizable details of the model.

Inside the case is the automatic SoProd M100 movement with COSC chronometer certification. The caliber operates at a frequency of 4 Hz and offers a power reserve of 42 hours. The back of the case remains closed, in keeping with the brand's minimalist approach. One of the trademarks of the brand is once again the Bonklip bracelet, which has been redesigned for this generation with a more pronounced taper, curved ends and a new Safe-Lock clasp for a more secure fastening.

New Ref. 7505 thus continues the philosophy of combining vintage military watches and technical standards, but in dimensions that have become more and more popular among collectors and lovers of classic proportions in recent years.
