New Tudor Black Bay 54 Lagoon Blue

Tudor has just introduced a refreshed version of its popular Black Bay 54 model, called “Lagoon Blue ”. While retaining the basic characteristics inherited from historic Tudor diving watches, this version introduces a bold dose of color that gives it a distinctly summery character.

Design

The first thing that catches the eye is the striking turquoise color of the dial, and Tudor calls this shade, as we have already mentioned, “Lagoon Blue,” which is reminiscent of shallow tropical lagoons. The dial surface has a slight texture reminiscent of sand, and in combination with the white markers and clear minute scale, legibility remains excellent despite the bright color palette.

Mechanism

The 37 mm case diameter remains the same as the previous Black Bay 54 model, a reference to the first Tudor Submariner from 1954. It is compact, harmonious and fits most wrists perfectly, making it ideal for everyday wear. The bezel is made of polished steel with an engraved scale, which further emphasizes its elegant character. The watch is of course water resistant to 200 meters, making it a true sporty, but also summer companion.

Inside the case is Tudor's in-house MT5400 movement, an automatic caliber with COSC accuracy certification. It has an anti-magnetic silicon spring and an impressive 70-hour power reserve. The same movement is used in other Black Bay models and is renowned for its precision.

The bracelet comes in Tudor's signature five-link design and is equipped with a T-Fit clasp that allows for quick and easy micro-adjustment, which is an ideal solution for changing wrist widths during hot days or after swimming.

The Lagoon Blue model comes with a slightly higher price tag compared to the basic Black Bay 54 variants, at around $4,350.
