New & Lingwood and WM Brown introduce luxury silk Lounge Robe

In the last few years, the clear line between loungewear and everyday wear has become increasingly blurred. What was once reserved exclusively for the privacy of the home now easily finds a place on hotel terraces, by the pool, while traveling or even in evening combinations. This is precisely the idea behind a new collaboration between British brand New & Lingwood and lifestyle magazine WM Brown, who have introduced the Lounge Robe, a luxurious silk robe conceived as a versatile piece of clothing, rather than a classic bathrobe.

Unlike their previous collaboration, a velvet tuxedo robe inspired by formal black tie attire, the new version brings a much more relaxed character. The idea is not to create another luxurious bathrobe, but a piece that works equally well with morning coffee, during a summer vacation, on a hotel terrace or as an unexpected layer over an elegant evening ensemble.

Lounge Robe is made from 100% Tussah silk, a natural silk known for its breathability, lightness and characteristic soft drape. The fabric has been produced in England for over a century, and each robe is handmade in New & Lingwood's atelier located below their iconic store on London's Jermyn Street, a street that has been synonymous with the finest British tailoring tradition for decades.

Visually, the design stays true to classic elements like the wide shawl collar, patch pockets and tie belt, while silk trims and signature gauntlet. The cuffs give the model a distinctive identity. Being completely unlined, the cape is extremely lightweight and suited to the warmer part of the year, which is why New & Lingwood describes it as an ideal piece for summer mornings, travel and poolside.

The collaboration is led by Matt Hranek, founder of WM Brown magazine, author of A Man and His Watch and A Man and His Kitchen, and one of the most recognizable names in the contemporary men's lifestyle scene. His approach to clothing has always combined classic elegance with practicality for travel and everyday life, and this philosophy is clearly evident in this project. Rather than a garment worn exclusively at home, the Lounge Robe is conceived as a piece that naturally fits into different situations throughout the day.

The Lounge Robe is available in black and ivory, and the price is 1.150 EUR.
