Alchemy between well-aged Cognac and hand-rolled cigars has been well chronicled since they were first paired together some 300 years ago.
Now, contributing to that illustrious legacy is the limited edition Delamain SIG CIGAR XO, the collaborative result of the shared vision of Aaron “Sig” Sigmond, an internationally recognized premium cigar pundit, and author of The Impossible Collection of Cigars and CIGARS A Biography, and his longtime friend Charles Braastad, a ninth-generation descendant of James Delamain, and the Delamain’s current Maître de chai (cellar master).
Guided by heritage, savoir-faire and a hands-off approach, the House of Delamain celebrated its bicentennial last year and specializes exclusively in eaux-de-vie from the “Premier cru” of the cognac appellation: Grande Champagne. Moreover, it just took home the platinum and “Spirits of the Year” awards in the 2025 Critics Challenge International Spirits Competition for its Pléiade Domaine La Rambaudie XO.

Sigmond, a passionate and long-time Cognac enthusiast and collector since 1992, who has traveled to the Cognac region over the past four consecutive decades. “This collaboration with Charles and Delamain is a lifelong dream come true,” said Sigmond.
Over the years, several Cognac Houses have crafted eaux-de-vie specifically to pair with cigars, now that niche category includes Delamain SIG CIGAR XO. A superlative extra-old Grande Champagne Cognac that embodies the literal and figurative spirit of the classic pairing of premier cru French brandy and cigars.

After nearly 30 years with Delamain, Charles Braastad said:
“I’m proud to see us draw closer to the world of cigar connoisseurs—a world that values time, as we do. For years, I searched for the right words to answer their quest. Today, we have one: SIG CIGAR XO.”
Delamain SIG CIGAR XO will be served at some of the finest cigar clubs and lounges in the world later this fall including Arturo Fuente Cigar Club Santo Domingo, Club Mareva Beirut, and The Carnegie Club, New York City.
