AHA! slow wine bar: Zagreb's hotspot for wine and pizza „on the go“

When it opened last year on the quiet Medulićeva Street at number 20, AHA! slow wine bar immediately caught the eye as a new haven for natural wine lovers. With its rustic interior, copper bar and walls covered in bottles, it seemed like a hidden corner for true wine lovers who wanted to explore without pretentiousness. But in less than a year, AHA! has grown from an intimate wine bar into one of the liveliest places in the city, with a distinctly Italian charm.

Today, AHA! is a place where wine is drunk “on the go”, often with a slice of pizza that takes you back to the streets of Naples. The food is simple; quality pizza, olive oil, cheese, and maybe a few plates to share. Ideal for those who don’t want a three-course dinner, but a good glass of wine, something tasty in hand, and a few friends by their side.

The wine list remained consistent with organic wines from Croatia, Italy and beyond. The prices are fair, the offer per glass is varied, and champagne for 10 euros is still a symbol of their philosophy:
“Top quality wine does not have to be reserved only for special occasions.”
Owner Tino Pattiera is still around, ready to recommend a wine, explain why a certain one is cloudy, or why it goes great with their pizza. The weekly blind tasting workshops are still held, but these days they are events that require more seating. You can contact them at: +385 91 4650 088.

In a time when many wine bars strive for exclusivity, AHA! remains a place that serves wine in a casual and open manner. That's exactly why it has become one of the city's hypes.
